Universal Sompo General Insurance appointed Rupesh Pawar as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Universal Sompo General Insurance is a Joint venture of Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Karnataka Bank Limited, Dabur Investments and Sompo Japan Insurance Inc.
Rupesh Pawar‘s last stint was with IndiaFirst Life as Head of Information Security (CISIO) where he was instrumental in driving various information security initiatives at the strategic level. Pawar‘s key initiatives at IndiaFirst Life was to define a strategic cyber security planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing defense initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment. This included management of current and future security technologies using a risk-based assessment methodology.
Previously Rupesh worked with organizations like HDFC Life, Nomura India, Lehman Brothers, HSBC GLT.
